SanDisk is present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, for the occasion presented some new products and among these we find two microSDs characterized not only by record-breaking capabilities, but also by the highest speeds currently available in the consumer environment.
After introducing last year the 400 GB UHS-I Extreme microSD card with a reading speed of 160 MB / s, the company this year surpasses itself with two new versions of 512 GB and 1 TB, both of Class 1 , characterized by the specific Application performance A2, which compared to the previous A1 allows faster loading and launch of installed applications. This is in all respects the fastest and most capacious microSDs announced today. Here are the main features:
Reading speed: up to 160 MB / s
Writing speed: up to 90 MB / s
The A2 specification allows the new board to manage the input-output access of 4000 operations per second random (IOPS) and 2000 in writing
Classifications of Speed Class 3 (U3) and Video Speed 30 (V30)
Compatible with RescuePro Deluxe data recovery software
Waterproof, temperature-resistant, shock and X-ray.
At the moment we do not know any availability and prices for other markets outside the United States, where they can be purchased from April. As for prices, we speak $ 199.99 for the 512 GB version and $ 449.99 for the 1TB.
Another company, Micron, also took advantage of the MWC to introduce a 1 TB micro SD card, the c200 model, however this offers only up to 100 MB / s read and 95 MB / s write, so the record for the fastest microSD card remains firmly in the hands of Sandisk.
