During the Mobile World Congress 2019 that will take place in Barcelona, LG will reveal its new flagship, the LG G8 ThinQ, which will be very peculiar, especially due to the fact that the screen will work as a speaker, for many this is the future of audio of the phones. The features of this smartphone had been previously filtered, but recently LG issued a statement to confirm that the G8 ThinQ will feature Crystal Sound OLED technology.
It is clear that this is not the first phone to use another way as a speaker, we had already seen a similar solution in the Xiaomi Mi MIX, which uses a piezoelectric driver for the sound to be transmitted through the frame. The next in line to do this is LG, who has always liked to stand out in the sound quality of their electronic devices.
Crystal Sound OLED
The same LG has confirmed that the sound equipment of this new terminal will be called Crystal Sound OLED, and is basically a method of making the screen work as a speaker. This technology uses the terminal’s OLED screen as a diaphragm, creating vibrations on the surface to produce sound.
LG in his press room said that, thanks to this innovative technology, the voices will be easier to distinguish and the subtle musical notes will be more noticeable, it will also save the trouble of placing the ear on the speaker to be able to hear clearly. It is worth mentioning that LG will not eliminate the lower horn and thus will have two channels, therefore, a stereo sound will be produced.

In addition to Crystal Sound OLED technology, the company’s new G series will feature other features that promise to bring its sound quality several rungs above the competition, among them we have:
Surround sound DTS: X 3D that emulates a 7.1 system with or without headphones.
Hi-Fi Quad DAC: Thanks to this chip, the quality of the sound transmitted to the headphones is significantly improved.
Master Quality Authenticated by Meridian Audio (MQA): This audio codec makes the transmission of high definition sound without compression viable.
Boombox speaker: Which substantially improves bass and volume.
We already know a lot about the LG G8 ThinQ, so the only thing left is to wait until February 24 to see this terminal and Crystal Sound OLED technology in action.
