Although Google has not yet revealed the official release date of Android 7.0 Nougat, Evan Blass posted some details through its Twitter account. The well-known “leaker” writes that the roll-out of the next version of the green robot operating system will be carried out already in August, with the update originally planned only for the latest Nexus devices. Blass stresses that Nougat not arrive on Nexus 5, 2014 device, but in some ways still quite relevant today.

Google has launched the Android 7.0 Developer Preview program Nougat last March, when he still had not even revealed the name. Known then as Android N, the release has been repeatedly updated with various types of corrections, up to the pre-release version available to date for all users. The information revealed by Blass seem quite credible: it is one of the most reliable leaker, and Google has already said that there will be no more “beta” versions of the operating system.

Android 7.0 Nougat
August seems therefore the most likely for the release of Android 7.0 Nougat, which will come with the latest security patches. Smartphones and the Nexus tablet will be as usual the first to receive the update, which will arrive with certainty on the following devices:

Nexus 6
Nexus 5X
Nexus 6P
Nexus 9
Is there any further questions for the update on the timing Pixel C, which in any case should be part of the initial roll-out. Nougat will arrive on HTC M9, A9 and 10, however we have not yet references on strategies that will adopt the various third-party vendors. The latter have never been too quick to update their devices to the latest version of Android, delaying by a few months even the roll-out of the latest high-end devices
